Damp, Dirty and smelling like Manure

Took a trip to my brother's farm yesterday, it rained, it poured and then it just sprinkled. Basically the day could be best described as wet, plain and simple. And grey. And sloppy.

And did I say wet?

Really no other way to describe it.

But it was nice to get there and just wander around and get a chance to see the 'babies', all 55 of the newest calves. There are a wide mix of breeds, colors and what not including two white ones with blue eyes.

Sadly I did not get a photo of 'Frank Sinatra' or the other blue eyed cow. Maybe next time.

Due to the weather I wasn't able to get as many pictures or as many locations as I would have liked. But you can't control the weather, but if I had a weather resistant camera....maybe someday.

Most of the pictures were taken with an old Pentax 50mm f2 lense adapted to my Olympus e510 with a Fotodiox adapter.

Take me out to the ball game...

Spring is in the air...the grass is starting to turn green, the early flowers are starting to open up and the sound of aluminum bats hitting baseballs is filtering through the wind.
In anticipation for the upcoming slugfests (or strikeout fests based on the age group) I decided to look back on some youth baseball photos from the previous summer.
Here are a few photos from a summer of 2009 game between the North Fondy Orioles and the Oakfield Oaks, two A-ball teams from rival small towns in east central Wisconson.
