Other than the mosquitoes...

..it was a very nice late May morning in Madison, Wisconsin. I had some time to spare so I went looking for a park near one of the lakes within and around the capitol of the Badger state.

I ended up at Olin Park overlooking Lake Monona with a view of the capitol building.

I took a short walk through the adjacent woodland conservation land. It was quiet with only two college aged runners taking advantage of the beautiful spring day.

I later found out (thanks to Google) that the woodlands next to Olin Park has become some sort of cruising ground for people looking to "hook up"..yikes.

Anyways...

The last photo is a composite stitched together from 6 photos.  The final size ended up being 34 by 8 inches.  This actually only half of the complete 12 photo 72inch by 8 inch panorama overlooking Lake Monona.  Far from perfect, but I like it.  And that is one the main points of this little hobby.  Enjoyment in what we do.

Another grey, rainy day...

...so let's play with a flashlight. Used a small LED flashlight to 'paint' a few flowers with light.

Still need to work on my technique, but this was far more enjoyable than watching golf on TV.

'Rhodo' means Rose...

The Rhododendrons are in bloom...or at least this one is.

According to the internet the word Rhododendron is of Greek origin -
the word 'Rhodo' means Rose, the word 'Dendron' means tree, so together 'Rose tree'.

So please enjoy a few photos from this 'Rose tree'
